Movies~! Yay~!

Aaaaarrrrhhhh... So sick of the fucking internet connection and am still so fucking pissed off with P, the direct-selling 'friend' of mine!!!
Anywayz, finally signed in and time for some movies review here! Basically the first three movies I'll be crapping about are those that I've waited for so so long to watch them! So I'm absolutely excited! As for the last one... You'll know as you read lar!

Departures
Departures is a MUST WATCH!!!

The Way We Are

Sell-Out!
Local movie! I supposed there wouldn't be any sell-out for this movie lar...
I just thought the poster(and blogger just decided it doesn't want me to upload the poster) looks pretty cool so I decided to go for a try.
It's kinda artsy and funny, but not all very funny. It's like the normal Malaysian comedy lar, all the jokes tak jadi one. It's actually a Musical but I can't help but started to yawn every time a song came... Ok ok, the Money song is not too bad, at least the MV really did made me laughed a bit. But overall, it's just WEIRD.
I don't like any of the performace of the actors in the movie, although... The main guy Peter Davis is damn cute, but he can't act, and bloody hell can't sing FULL-STOP. But I appreciate the fact that it is a movie shot quite nicely, with really nice locations and props! I wonder where they found the fancy-looking office? Or is it they just built it up for the movie? And you know what? The director, Yeo Joon Han is so 'geng' that I have to give him some compliment. He is not only the director, producer and editor of the film, he is also the lyrics and music composer for most of the songs! But yea... The songs are pretty weird and forgettable lar! Too bad...

Okay, that's it for tonight. More food reviews from Taiping coming up... After I'm done with my whole load of work lar!

Happy 'Ah Boo' Day~!

In conjunction with Mother's Day, I'm happily in Taiping! Yay~! But... I'm going back to KL again tomorrow lar! So sad... Ok lar, I can't be eating about 20 hours per day for too long you know, I will become a true fatty bom-bom! :S
So, in conjunction with Mother's Day, I gave my mom, my dad, my two sisters and my Ah Ma(dad's side) a treat. I think I should say it's also for Father's Day lar cos I'm not coming back for that next month. We had our dinner at Da Hua Restaurant located in Kampung Jambu, a restaurant I fell in love with since my last trip home for Cheng Beng. I still remember we ordered two plates of their La-La just because it was too good! Yum~!My cute Ah Ma who put her hand on my shoulder for the pic... So friend ler!
Oh no~ Mummy is falling asleep AGAIN!!!
The restaurant is always fully-booked, especially during special festivals, so we made a reservation earlier and ordered all the dishes beforehand. So here's the menu of the night..."Go Hok"--The Five Happiness.
Oooh~The Mixed Vege with Scallops!
The Fried Shark...
The Fried Sang Mee... With duck eggs!
Nai Yao Har... Definitely Ducum's favourite dish.
The major thing! The Kam Heong La-La!
To me, the La-La was still really good. They are all big and fresh, just like the last time I came. The Fried Shark was not too bad, but nothing beats my Ah Ma's(mum's side) one. I reckon the curry fish I had the last time was better. The scallops was pretty fresh too! Anywayz, I strongly recommend you guys to try the La-La there! Simply too delicious to ressist!
It all came to a total of RM155, I still think that is cheap for a meal with stuff like prawns, sharks and scallop! Eating in Taiping is just DAMN CHEAP!!!

Also in conjunction with the mummy day, I, or we (Ducum and I) would like to confess...
We always talk about the crazy stuff we did when we were kids, and most of them involve cheating our dear, cute and blur blur mum.
You see last time when we were sleeping in one room, we always have this 'night activity' in our room. Nah... We didn't watch porn or do any nasty thing lar, don't think too much. One of them was to 'korek' money out from our piggy banks. Mine was a shape of a big slice of watermelon while Ducum's was a big round honeydew. We would lie on our bed holding the piggy bank with the little slot facing down to us, then with our metal ruler, we would get coins out very easily. And then... Yay~! Extra pocket money for tomorrow! Can buy snacks or the cup noodles in school! My mum would sometimes knock on the door and we would quickly keep the piggy banks under our blanket before slowly got up and opened the door for her... The second thing was, eating Mee-in-my-Mug! You know Maggi has this tiny packets of noodles where all you need to do is put them into a mug, add hot water and you're done? My mum used to buy that a lot those days and we always sneaked out of the room late at night to make that as our supper. We leave no proof, since we always hide the wrappers underneath all the rubbish in the rubbish bin! The best part was when we were happily having our supper in the room, mum would come AGAIN!!! I know, she just love to check us out so much those days! Guess what? We would keep the mugs in one of our empty drawers! Then when she left the room, we of course continue eating! Hahahaha~!Ducum showing-off the noodles we use to have in our room...secretly! Shhhhh...
I don't know, but we told her about that when we were all grown up, she always say:"You think I don't know ar?"... But I really think she doesn't know at all... Judging by the 'blur-ness' she has.
Oh yes, my mum is always so blur it makes her so cute! Hahaha... Read Vivian's blog, my mum just went through one of her funniest moment of her life last week. For those who don't understand Chinese, she actually went to a Kopitiam with Vivian last week and went to the toilet there. After a while, she called Vivian on her mobile, asking her to push the toilet door for her because she couldn't open the door! So Vivian went, and she couldn't find anybody in the toilet (there is only a Ladies and a Gents toilet there). Then my mum called another few more times kinda losing patience asking why Vivian isn't there yet... And then suddenly Vivian saw my mum walking out from the Gents... Hahahahahah~ The thing was, my mum doesn't even know! She was still questioning Vivian for the delay when she came out!!! See, I told ya... She is so blur...So... HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO MRS. TAN! :)
Hehehe... My cute mum...

Bonus...
My very handsome Xiao Ma of BBT is always so cute whenever he is with his black-framed glasses...And then, the fan got a pair of them too~!Nice or not???

Nothing to shout about...

I actually think there are so little movies that interest me lately. It's like every Tuesday and Wednesday I had to skip movies and do other stuff. Sigh... And! The French Film Festival! Bloody hell, the tickets are now no longer RM5!!! Aaaarrrhhh...
Anywayz, here are three movies I've watched over the past few weeks. First one was a DVD I bought quite a while ago, the second one was because Ducum said it was bloody good while the third one was because we have no choice, but turned out to be better than expected.

Claustrophobia

Coming Soon
I'm soooooo NOT a horror movie fan. But when someone told me about a bloody good one, I would watch it. It's just like The Shutter and this one, which is also made by the same director.
Okay, I must say one or two parts of the movie is bloody scary! It's like the ghost scares you continuously in about 1 minute time! It was enough to make me scream for a little while in the cinema... ==||| I can't tell you much also because I shut my eyes majority of the time every time I watch scarry movies.
Well, I guess it was pretty not bad for a ghost movie, but to me, it doesn't beat The Shutter.

The Sniper

Shirlexia, the food lover, food review writer and cook!

Ok guys, first of all, if you are staying or working in Damansara or Kepong, you might get a free copy of The Focus, a newly published dining guide. Hey, hey, I'm the writer cum editor for the little magazine! So do support the magazine and you are welcome to give me some comments too! The restaurants actually paid to be advertised lar, but I still have to write them in a way that would attracts the reader too! I think my first time is just so-so, I will do better for the next issue in August! :)
Of course, a special thanks to Yee Chuan who gave me the chance to do something I really love! :)The Focus is here! Check it out!
So now I'm not only a food lover, I'm also a food review writer, unofficially and officially. Plus, I'm also a cook, unprofessionally! Hehe...
After a long long break, I returned to the kitchen and cooked a proper meal tonight for Ducum, Sok and I Rene. It's Wui Fan or Mui Fan (燴饭). It's like the Cantonese Fried, Wat Dan Ho, just that this is serve with rice... Basically because I'm lazy to fry the noodles lar! :p
What you need?
Basically, oil, salt, corn flour, chopped garlic, chicken thigh cut into pieces (marinated with soya sauce and pepper beforehand, add in some corn flour to make the chicken tender), fresh prawns, vegetables-choy sum, two eggs, beaten.
This time around I added some sotong balls, button mushrooms and brocoli, just because I had to clear them off from the pantry and fridge.Ta da~ The very simple ingredients!
Oh, of course, cook some rice lar!
Start cooking the gravy by heating up the oil, fry the garlic, then the chicken, prawns, mushrooms, sotong balls and brocoli until they are all cooked. Add in water as much as you think it's enough. Let it boil. As it boil, add in the choy sum and salt to taste, stir. Wow~ Seriously looking very yummy already...
Next two steps are very important. Stir the corn flour with some water (note: it has to be cold tap water, otherwise it won't work) and pour slowly onto the wok. As you pour, stir. Make sure you stir as soon as you pour the corn flour in, otherwise it will results to some cubes of corn flour in your dish! Do this until the gravy is thicken. Finally, add in the beat eggs and stir! And you're done!
With the corn flour and eggs in, you can be ready to eat now!
To serve, put some rice on your plate, then pour the gravy over the rice! You can do the same with some fried Kuey Tiao, Yee Mee or any noodles you like. We had the healthy five-coloured rice lar! :)
And a look at the very important gravy.
And now you are all ready to have the Hui Fan a.k.a Mui Fan! Itata kimasu!
Yum~ yum~! I used to cook this a lot in Perth, and my housemates from different countries love it! I learnt this from my mum back home, so credit should goes to my lovely mum! :)
And that's us enjoying our dinner under the super duper hot weather! Sweat~Sweat~Sweat~!
To all my friends out there! Please make sure you stay healthy! Drink more water, herbal tea or vitamins. Stay away from the Swine Flu!!! Take good care of yourself! We are going out to get some Chinese Herbal Tea now, see ya~!

Brunch @ Yut Kee... Yum~!

I just broke my personal record of the least blog posts in a month! Phew~! Only EIGHT blog post! I mean LAPAN! BA! BAT! HACHI!
Aiya, faham-faham lar... I'm not a famous blogger whom trips to anywhere in the world are sponsored by some company. Neither am I like my dear friends, who have such dramatic life, break-ups, new crush or madly in love... :p Aaaarrrhhhh... See, my life is so dull!
Ok lah, two days ago I actually went out with the Cincai Group to Sky Bar. But our dear photographer didn't bring his camera. So we had to take pictures with mobile phones with the minimal light we had. So here's quite a nice one taken by Audrey...Not too bad a night at Sky Bar, was like a little ex-Hua Lian(s) reunion...
Anywayz... Today, or to be exact, yesterday, I brought Ducum and Sok (hahahaha... Sok!) to Yut Kee at Jalan Dang Wangi, my second visit to the kopitiam, their first. It was already full with lots of people waiting for tables when we arrived (yea, after getting lost for about 20 minutes), so we ended up with a table outside, with a drunken Indian man who were basically sleeping like 99% of the time we were there... ==||| Here we are... The very famous Yut Kee...The uncle whom we shared a table with...
Ducum and Sok dared themselves to take a picture with him... From that angle, everyone in the kopitiam actually saw them doing that!
I think we just want him to quit drinking and have some good food! :)
Still sleeping with saliva coming out from his mouth... Haha...
We ordered quite a lot of food, as usual. My Hai Lam Fried Mee wasn't really good lor, I reckon the Lam Mee I had last time was better, way better. Ducum had the chicken chop, and oh yeah~ the gravy was oooooohhh~so~good! Sok had a Char Siew Rice, which she said the rice was pretty good. They also love the Roti Babi, Roti Bakar and the Kaya Roll! Ah~ The Kaya Roll is unforgettable! The homemade Kaya is like really thick, not the smooth ones, I really love that kinda Kaya! I actually Ta Pao some home too! :)Roti Bakar with the MAJOR thing... The Kaya!
Everybody loves the Roti Babi... Aih... Nobody really cares about the Swine Flu...
My first Kaya Roll experience... Awesome!
Yum~Chicken Chop with the very homey gravy!
The so-so-only Fried Hai Lam Mee.
The Char Siew Rice wasn't too bad I guess...
Nah... Give you the menu so that you can decide what you wanna try!
After that, can't help... We took some silly pictures at the very old school-looking kopitiam!
So the happy with my Kaya Roll takeaway~! LOL!
No... No... We didn't go to Chow Kit Road!
Trying to be funny? Cute? Nerdy?
Now this one I know... Pretending to look like we are waiting for the bf who is already late for one hour!!!
Ok, this one quite normal I cannot think of an interesting caption.
Urm... Very Hot?Hey, I was imitating somebody, guess who???
Thank god I was standing at the back! I don't have nice teeth! See... I think I'm the most creative one among them, okay?
This one, I look like I was licking some nasty thing and Ducum and Sok are ignoring me...
Haiyo~ I look like I was humping my bag! Euw~ My blog is definitely 18SX! :S
Sexy back~! Time to go home~!
Coming home with sun-burn and now... At about midnight, I'm hungry...
