Lazy Saturday's Crap

Hello there!
It's time for another random update post. Shall we start with a sneak peek of our pre-wedding photos?
Pretty or not?
I have another one on my FB which I believe a lot of you have seen it by now. All these are unedited photos actually and judging from the unedited photos, both Deardo and I are pretty happy with them. So I consider ourselves being quite lucky so far for taking up the bridal package with a bridal house which is so far, very satisfying! :)
By the way, love my bouquet? The hydrangea are imported flowers! I got it from CountryVictoria Decor! I have bought a lot of stuff from her, be it functional or deco stuff for the house. Her stuff are very fancy, vintage yet affordable! :)

At work, I congratulated some of my award-winning students for their degree graduation recently.
From Left: Aaron, Ee Lyn and Thiru, whom I'm very proud of! :)
Upon seeing them graduating from the university, it makes me realised that I've been stuck to the same company for three years now! That's the longest time I've ever stuck to a company! Woot~!!! I see that as an achievement, despite all the crazy workload! :p

Last month was also Deardo's birthday and because we are both quite broke now that a lot of deposits need to be paid for our wedding (trust me, you should really go into make-up, videography or photography business because you may earn big bucks man!), we celebrated it in an economical way.
First, we had lunch at Brotzeit, a German restaurant which normally serves quite expensive food, but their weekday set lunches are quite cheap and delicious! I've personally been there with my colleagues for many times but that was the first time Deardo tried it.
You know he was in a good mood when he bothers to pose for you like that! :p
Then at night, we had our own romantic birthday dinner at home. I made some Chicken Roulette with chicken chops with stir-fried shitake and button mushrooms, almond and rosemary as the stuffing (similar to my Stuffed Chicken recipe). It has two sides - the Brickfields inspired Indian Chickpeas (recipe here) and Kerabu Broccoli and Shrimps (Simply pre-boiled the broccoli and shrimps, then stir up with some lime juice, fish sauce, sugar, sliced onions and  Serai. Similar to my Kerabu Pork Belly recipe!). As for the gravy, I seriously just tried my luck! I simmer the chopped onions, then the two types of mushrooms. I then added in some cooking cream then some chili powder!
Our birthday dinner went perfectly good with white wine!
My birthday boy! Or man?
Man that was a lot of work! But luckily the birthday boy was very satisfied with the dinner! I thought the dinner was not bad too, it has a mixture of all the different tastes and cultures in it!

Who love my Voul-au-vent? Well, ever since I made it on Christmas last year, I've continue to try out different recipe with the leftover frozen puff pastry. You've seen it here and I've tried it with the leftover mushrooms from Deardo's birthday dinner!
Deng deng deng deng...
On a healthy night, we had the mushroom voul-au-vent with some greens and a cup of oat krunch shake as dinner.
Let's just call it Mixed Mushroom Voul-au-vent! It was nice and creamy, plus super easy to make! :)

Next up, a short update on little Yue Yue, Deardo's niece!
Us, few months back.
Us, just last weekend!
She is already one and a half year-old now and she can already call Deardo 'Kau Fu' in the cutest way you could imagine! Haha!

If you see the photo above, I was happily holding my shopping loot! It was a pair of Aldo shoes which was on half price sales. I love it so much that I've traveled to two malls just to get it and you bet I was super excited to have found it finally! *wink~*
LOVING THE COLOUR OF THE PAIR OF HEELS!!!<3 font="" nbsp="">
I also tried this... In *you guess where* and I really love it! I don't normally wear long sleeves because of our weather, but this one is an exception. It looks really classy and the colour is just striking enough to catch my eyes! Too bad the size doesn't really suit me so... No buy!
It was a no buy, did I make the right decision?
Last week, I was also very excited to finally found a perfect ring storage box for my rings (me, the rings obsess)! YAY~~!!! I've been looking for it for the longest time ever and I didn't know it can be so hard to find one! So now not only am I really happy that I've bought it for a good price, my rings will also be very happy as they have found comfy cushions to hang-out at! LOL!
I think they are enjoying the comfy cushions!
Till then, more updates soon! :)

Deardo's Bday Dinner @ Jake's, Medan Damansara

It's Deardo's birthday today but we had our celebration dinner last night at Jake's Charbroil Steaks Restaurant. My original plan was to bring Deardo to a new place but he was not really keen to make his birthday dinner such big fuss, so we finally decided to go back to a place where we already know their food are good, and that is Jake's, by far the best place to go for steaks! That's us having our own fun before the food came!
Oh yeah! I also finally cut my hair that day! Nice or not???
You gotta love Deardo's t-shirt!!! I love it so much I couldn't help but to buy it for him!!!
Since it was our second visit, I tried a different dish while Deardo being Deardo, stuck with his favourite order. I had the NZ Rack of Lamb while he had the Australian Sirloin. We also had a Crispy Potato Skin to share.Crispy Potato Skin. RM9.90.
NZ Rack of Lamb, RM56.
Australian Sirloin, RM48.90.
I think we both enjoyed our dishes very much! Both were very well done. I especially love the mint bernaise that comes with the lamb rack! Yumzzz... I'm not so much a fan of the Crispy Potato Skin though, perhaps because I was expecting it to be just the skin and the bacon. It turned out to have bacon, onions and capsicums in the potato skin with cheese topping. I didn't like the fact that the bacon, onions and capsicums were so plain and dry.Nom... Nom... Nom... Nom...
Something worth sharing is that I absolutely enjoyed the hospitality at Jake's. Their service are fast, although you can see the entire restaurant being pretty crowded. They have very quick response to stuff or pay a lot of attention to their customers that makes you feel very warm. E.g. when they saw me slurpping my lamb rack with hands, they sent a bowl of water with lemon to our table just for me to clean my hands!A bowl of water with lemon, with a piece of serviette were sent to our table without us asking. :)
So there you go, a satisfying and yummy birthday dinner for the birthday boy! :) It was in fact a great Saturday too! We spent the afternoon shopping for books and clothes with loads of vouchers. I mean, I couldn't even remember when was the last time I bought a book! Well, the truth is, I didn't want to buy any because I simply have no time for a book now, given the crazy work load I have. But wth I had vouchers!!! And my clothes I bought from Parkson were nice and cheap too! I also bought him a perfume as a birthday gift! It's been quite some time since I last had so much of fun shopping! Diamonds are girls' best friend? I rather save the money to buy more stuff. To me, shopping is my best friend! :p
To my dearest Deardo Wong, a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY and you know how much I love you, right? *wink~~~*Pray for only the good things to come for you!!! Muaks~~~!!! Mamo will be saying... Aiyo I also paiseh looking at this photo... :p

Deardo's Happy 'Abalone' Day~!

So... It was deardo's birthday last weekend. Since it was the first birthday since we started dating, we've had a few plans which weren't really confirmed before his big day came, but in the end none of them works because... His parent were in town! Since it was quite close to their 30th anniversary, they've decided to celebrate both big days together, and yes I'm very glad I was invited to join the celebration! :)
The day was actually filled with food! Non-stop of food!!!
The day started with lunch at home with deardo's cute mum's cooking. And then we went to Pavilion to basically do something I really hate... WINDOW SHOPPING... Oh well, when I'm incomeless I really hate that lor...

Dessert @ MOF, Pavilion
We had dessert break at MOF, a cafe that serves Japanese dessert I've always wanted to try! I think this time around I must thank deardo's sister for bringing us to try this!I didn't have the names of the stuff we ordered, so here you go...Red Bean with Matcha red bean ice-cream served with some dumplings.
Red bean with soya ice-cream served with loads of almond flakes and dumplings.
Three scoops of ice-creams with our choice of flavours: Matcha, black sesame and watermelon sorbet.
I must say I love the green tea with red bean ice-cream a lot. I don't know, but I always think green tea and red bean make brilliant combination! But our favourite of the day would be the red bean with soya ice-cream with almond thingy. The soya ice-cream is not as sweet as other ice-creams while the almond smells and taste really really good! That's the one I would like to have for a second time! Deardo being funny while the rest stayed calm... Kekekeke....

Dinner @ Ah Yat Abalone, SS13, PJ
Yeap, the plan was to have abalone!!! I don't know about you, but before this I only had abalone once, and that was home-cooked one like ages ago. I remember not liking it too much lar, but I couldn't really remember much since I seems to lose a lot of my kid time memory all the time. The two unyummy appetizers that costs us bloody RM10! :S
We went for the set meal for 6 persons (although there were only 5 of us), which comes with abalone, shark fins, suckling pig with some other dishes. It was actually a very economic set meal at RM389.
Here's the list of way-too-much-of-food we've stuffed ourselves with that night...Unlike the usual shark fin soup, this one is without the egg.
And unlike the usual shark fin soup, this one comes with big pieces of shark fins! Ducum Tan, are you seeing this???? :p
Half a suckling pig... Not the best suckling pig I had.
Next up, not very interesting Deep Fried Shrimp Balls.
Here comes the abalones!
Some fish with ham, mushrooms and veges.
So vegetarian you wouldn't believe it...
Fried Sau Mien with some taugeh, mushrooms, pork... Very weird combination too... :S
The set meal also comes with this papaya dessert.
And some special jelly and pastry...
The dinner was quite a disappointment. Except for the abalone, shark fins and suckling pig, the rest of the dishes are just too plain and very 'vegetarian'. Well, I guess we can't ask for too much for that cheap price lar, right? But the abalone and suckling pig aren't as good as expected while the shark fins soup was a bit tasteless. Deardo's parent trying out abalone for the first time!
Shirlexia getting ready to have her abalone too!
I still think I'm not a fan of abalone. Not especially these mini ones I guess. I actually think those canned abalone tastes better. :p Finally, we get to have a pic together, only the two of us! :D
You know what, deardo's dad was right. We were really being bad human being for eating shark fins (you know lar how they get the shark fins and throw the shark back into the sea) and suckling pig (they don't even get to grow older :( )... Really shouldn't have such feast so often...Another family photo with me in it! :p
I can now totally understand why 3e said I've obviously put on some weight... :S

Guess what I gave my deardo as his birthday gift???Ta da... The Transformer toy which is quite amazing in a way, but you should be feeling 'amazer' at the price!
I actually still cannot believe I've spent almost RM300 to buy him a probably useless Optimus Prime transformable figure when I'm jobless with zero income... ==|||
Anywayz, looking at how happy and excited he was playing with it, it's all worth it lar!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ONCE AGAIN, DEARDO!!!
I LUP YA~~~~!!!
