Delicious Dim Sum @ Grand Imperial, BSC

Deardo and I are without any doubt, a big fan of dim sum. And to me, minus the deep fried items and the rice, dim sum can be quite a good choice for people who are on a diet. *wink~*
Grand Imperial at Bangsar Shopping Centre is a new found place for dim sum which Deardo first found out when he went there with his colleagues. We have since went there for two times and I'm absolutely blown away by not only their dim sum, but also the ambiance and service.
Our second visit was with Deardo's sister and her family, here are the dim sum items we had the other day...
Har Gao.
Siu Mai.
Deep Fried Shrimp Dumplings.
Siu Long Bao.
Char Siew Pau.
Wu Kok.
Lo Mai Gai.
Char Siew Cheong Fun.
Fried Carrot Cake.
Hong Kong Deng Zai Porridge.
Most of the dishes are up to my satisfaction level actually and I'm quite in love with their Har Gao, Siu Mai, Deep Fried Shrimp Dumplings, Lo Mai Gai and Fried Carrot Cake. They are super yummy, trust me. I mean there are a lot of Har Gao out there that I think the skins are too thick but this one is just nice! :) The prawns used are real fresh ones too! Personally, I don't think the Siu Long Bao here are good and you should just go to Dragon-i for that.
Us and the uber cute little Yue Yue! :D
The restaurant is quiet as it has a few rooms like partitions that separate a few tables to the others and I can see all their service staff are quite well-trained as well. A thumb-up from me on that.
All dim sum plus Chinese tea for four of us cost us almost RM150, which is slightly above the average price but we were very happy with the food so no complains! In fact, I'm starting to miss that place now! :p

Happy Fashionable CNY 2013!!!

Due to my busy schedule before the CNY this year, I haven't got a lot of time to do a lot of shopping for new clothes. I did get some new clothes here and there but some others are just old ones that look just right for the festive season. As usual, I had Ducum to help me take some photos to showcase these CNY fashion!
Here we go~!

Day 1: The Red & Black Contrast
Some said black is the lucky colour for Rats (in Chinese horoscope) so I guess this simple yet pretty dress I got just about 3 days before I came back to Taiping was a great choice to wear on first day of CNY. What I especially like about the dress is that it is so casual that I can also wear it to work (so a very practical buy) and the fact that it is a mini fishtail dress cos the dress has a slightly longer back just made it so much more cooler!
Dress from Pudoudou at Lala Land, Sunway Pyramid, RM79.90. Wedges from Charles & Keith sales (forgot how much was it), very diva-ish earings from Aldo Sales, RM40, very diva-ish lipstick two-hole ring from a bazaar.

Day 2: The Cute Colours
Got this cute dress from Bugis during my trip to Singapore for XT's wedding. It was the one and only piece of outfit I got from the super busy and crowded place. It is with a light pink base, with some pieces of bright pink and turquoise cloths patched on the bottom. Love how it makes me look so young! :p

Dress from a random shop in Bugis, SGD19.90. Very old hairband from a bazaar, very old necklace from Promod, very old multi-coloured bangles. Super cool-looking two-hole ring from Diva sales, RM21 and grey heels from Forever 21, RM79.

Day 3: The Princess Look with a Vest-Kick
The cream colour dress isn't new but this was only the second I wore it. The tulle material is one of my favourites now that I'm looking at bridal stuff a lot and I totally think tulle makes a dress looks so much more cuter! I put on the vest just so to cover a little bit of my fat!
Dress from H&M, RM79. Very old vest from Sub Zero. Same hairband, necklace and wedges as above.

If you realise, I didn't dye my hair this CNY because I would be doing that later for our pre-wedding photo shoot as well as our wedding so I left it as it is for CNY!

Oh wait!
Of course the Tan sisters had their photo shoot too! In fact I think my sisters are getting more diva now! They have dyed their hairs with cool colours and bought some really nice clothes! Ducum actually does better make-up than me you know!
As though we were doing a photo shoot for an all-girl band album or something! Don't you think so??? K-pop, K-pop! LOL!
This year 4e joined in for two photos and we love how they turned out to be! Check them out!!!
4e definitely doesn't act like her age! Oh... That was certainly, definitely, 100% total compliment, 4e! :p

As the popular saying says, we save the best for the last! Even Ducum's friend told her much earlier that he will be waiting for our annual crazy family photos! Were you also waiting for our family photos???
Here you go then~! :)
Papo was out in the morning so we took some with Mamo first. She looks uber cute in the second photo!!! Ha!
The boring one.
The not-so-common one.
The super cute one. Look at Papo and Mamo!!! :D
The movie poster-inspired one. Guess which one?
Bridesmaids it is! How close were we???
By far everyone's favourite! The random one! Papo's expression is priceless!
Well, we did LOL a lot taking those photos and I'm so thankful that once again, Papo and Mamo are sporting enough to answer to all our funny requests in posing for these photos! End up we have another set of fabulous and fun looking family photos! Yay! Huat Huat Huat Aarrrrrr!!!
So which one is your favourite, guys?

Heading back to KL soon but hey, CNY is still considered on! So Happy Chinese New Year to all of you and may only the good things come! :D

Foreign Movies Review

OH HAI!
HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR!!! :D

So... Turned out I was not as productive as I wanted myself to be in Taiping... Sigh...
Anywayz, I know it's CNY and you probably can't wait for my CNY post but I'm thinking of blogging about my long overdue movie reviews on the foreign movies I watched on board during my Russia trip first. They are mostly quite old movies but I did find jewel in them! :) CNY post... I promised hope that I can do it before I go back to KL.

Starbuck (Canadian film in French)
The movie talks about the main guy David, whom out of the need of money has donated his sperms during his teenage time and few years later the 533 children whom he has fathered came out to look for their biological dad, which freaked David out.
It is obviously a very interesting story in the first place, very crazy but pretty cool. Most parts of the movie are very hilarious especially when David was following his kids secretly to find out who they are and all that. I just wished that the movie can be a little bit more sentimental in stead of being so sad and negative sometimes. I mean, I see a lot of potential in making it a tearful movie but it just doesn't make you cry, just yet.
Patrick Huard, who plays David gave a very good performance overall, although I'm still not quite a fan because he was being so negative and reluctant in most parts of the movie.
I'm not quite sure if I would recommend you to watch this one...

The Intouchables (French)
I'm not hiding it, this is my favourite!!!
Based on a true story, The Intouchables is a movie about Philippe, an old and rich musician who is paralyzed after an accident who has been firing a lot of his personal assistant until he found Driss, a rude African who changed Philippe and his other employees life after being hired. I love the movie too much to say anything negative thing about it! I love how they present the story with such humour and in quite a casual way. It made me laungh and cry all at the same time! What I love the most is the story is about a white guy and his black personal assistant! Such non-racist movie! In fact, it's a true story you see! It's definitely a movie with probably very low budget, very simple true story but provides you with a lot of joy as you watch it!
I totally love the chemistry between the main actors, Francois Cluzet and Omar Sy. They both gave such a solid performances too! And I think the movie has a very strong cast because even some of the small roles see very great acting in them too!
I will certainly recommend you to watch this one! WATCH THE INTOUCHABLES!!!

A Royal Affair (Danish)
Also based on a true story, the movie is about a young queen married to an insane king, then fell in love with her physician. The story goes on to see how people found out about the affair and how they killed the physician and punished the poor queen.
Honestly, when I heard the movie is nominated for the Oscar this year, I was like SERIOUSLY??? Don't you feel the story itself is already damn boring? The movie is slow, uninteresting, and so sad!!! Like you feel so negative watching the entire movie! Yucks! I mean, sorry guys, there must be a reason the movie is nominated for the Oscar but I don't know how to appreciate this one...
I don't see any nice acting as well and I don't know is it an European and Asian's difference in taste or what, but all main actors and actress don't look good as well! I mean, aren't the queen supposed to be very pretty? And the guy she is supposed to be having an affair with should look damn hot? Sigh...
Nah... Not my cup of tea!

Now let's hope I'll have some time to catch some latest movies soon! :)

We Had Fun @ XT's Wedding!

Well, most of you who have me on your FB may already saw the photos but I thought it should only be fair to blog about the wedding where I had a lot of fun not only sending one of my best friends off to her hubby, but also loads of fun catching-up with old friends. It's like a wedding rendezvous! :D
Xiao Ting's wedding took place in Singapore and as one of the bridesmaids, it was pretty tiring especially when I was still down with cough and nose block and couldn't sleep so well at night, then had to wake up freaking early in the morning for the morning session. I swear my eyes were bloody swollen in the morning! I'm not complaining too much cos I know it was much more exhausting for the bride herself.
Me and the pretty bride... Look at my swollen eyes!!!
Well I don't have any photos of us during the gate-crashing session which went on extremely smooth. But I do have whole loads of photos of us in our very cute purple dresses that XT got for us! So here we go~!
The bride and her bridesmaids!!!
The Taiping gang invaded Singapore!
Love the dress!
After the morning session, we moved on to Raffles Hotel (which is duh, super beautiful and grand) for the rest of the ceremony. XT and Kelvin did their very simple tea ceremony and we had the flower-throwing after that.
Guess what? I got the flowers... Although I sort of suspect XT purposely threw it to my direction! LOL!
Well obviously I'm the next one in line lar! Our wedding is memang this year wurt! :p
No thanks to KK who captured this moment which makes me look a little desperate for the flower! LOL!
After that we enjoyed ourselves taking photos around the hotel area. Honestly, I love the dress heaps but I don't know when can I wear it next to? Hmmmm...
DON'T YOU LOVE THAT DRESS???
They say KK and I look like we are at our wedding! Hahaha!!!
Then the wedding luncheon where KK and I were the emcees. It really kills me to talk that day with my 'sexy' voice but I'm still very glad that I played quite an important role at XT's wedding because again, she is one of my best pals!
Oh Hai! Say hello to the emcees of the day!
The wedding was super simple but beautiful! I mean, mine isn't going to be like hers but it was a wedding to remember. I love the speech the couple gave as well, very touching yet funny! Ha!
The newly-wed with the Ji Muis and Heng Dais.
Most importantly, the few of us from Taiping were having great time doing crazy stuff even after the wedding! It was like going back to the good old days where we use to take thousands of photos with stupid poses and all! Can't believe we were still doing that when we are almost 30! Yucks! Hating the number! Anyway, what matters most is that we truly had fun and enjoyed ourselves at the wedding!
XT and me are super used to posing like divas! LOL!
XT's friend from Taiwan, Siao Gu took very nice photos of us!
The Taiping gang with the couple. We looked damn slim and long don't we?
Stupid poses... Now you know what I mean right?
KK seriously stole the limelight lar!!!
I wish we will also have the same amount or perhaps more fun at my very own wedding! Deal, guys?
Anyway, once again, Congratulations XT and Kelvin!!! :D

We went on to meet Yee Yin (who was prohibited to attend XT's wedding because hers was last month) and we had another fun few hours catching-up with each other, talking crap and gossiping about others! Oh man, I'm starting to miss those gatherings!!! So see you guys during CNY!!! :D
Old friends are still the best sometimes...
As mush as I'm happy for XT to finally settle down with her man, I'm also pretty excited about my own wedding which I haven't have time to share on my blog more about what's going on at the moment. Well I'll be off for CNY soon and hopefully I'll find the time to blog about it soon! :)

*Special thanks to Xiao Gu, Poh Hoon and KK for the photos.
