We were at Jaya One hunting for dinner the other night when we excitedly found OldSchool actually opened for business already! I've heard a lot about the shop from Yve Vonn and have been wanting to give the restaurant a try!
The restaurant has two main highlights - Malaysian school theme and a porky theme as their menu features mainly dishes with pork. The entire design of the restaurant is lovely, reminding you of your school classroom and canteen! Cute mural paintings, old school snacks that brings you down the memory lane all over again and the menu that comes in a form of exercise book, fully hand-written too! If I were them, I would be giving out free pre-meal snacks like 'Ah Tap Chee' biscuits or something like that!
Mind you, even their service staff dress-up in not-so-Malaysian school uniforms and the manager was in Principal suit! So damn cool lor!!!
Range of food on the menu looks very complete! From snacks, sandwiches, Western dishes up till some really homey Malaysian dishes like Nasi Lemak, Prawn Noodle and Pork Noodles Soup. Of course you would expect pork in almost all dishes, including the Nasi Lemak!
