Too much of food in 2 days!

Last Thursday, my dear and I checked-into Maytower Hotel for a night as a short break. This is a special treat from I Rene, who had won the complimentary stay at the hotel through a lucky draw. So, a trillion thanks to I Rene! :)
Here are some of the stuff we ate during that 2 days.

Uncle Seng Restaurant @ SS15, Subang Jaya
This restaurant is no stranger to people staying in Subang area. It's a very famous restaurant selling homemade Wantan Noodles. Mind you, this place can be very busy during lunch time!
So that was lunch for us before checking into the hotel.Uncle Seng Restaurant, one of my favourite restaurant to go recently.
As usual, my dear ordered his Noodles with Wantan and Char Siew while I had mine with the braised chicken feet with mushroom.
I don't know about my dear's, I mean that is just such a common flavour. But mine is awesome! I love the chicken feet! It's just tasted so good! It's cooked till ngam-ngam where the skin is crispy and the smell is so good! Loving it man!Loving my noodles with the chicken feet and mushroom!
My dear's noodles with Wantan and Char Siew.
Some people actually pour a lot of this Sambal onto their noodles!
Upon request, my little bowl of curry gravy!
There are more variety of flavours for you to choose from, like curry chicken, minced pork, etc.
A regular plate of the noodles will only costs you RM 4.60! I think the large one is only RM5.30.

Bayernhaus @ Cap Square, KL
I think Cap Square is such a hidden mall in KL. I mean, do you even know there is such mall called Cap Square??? Well, it was right across the street of Maytower, so we went over to search for a nice place for dinner. Although the mall is quite empty, but surprisingly we found a really good restaurant and had a really satisfying dinner there!Bayernhaus has a not-too-bad interior design and deco.
Shirlexia posing with the loads of German beer.
At first, I didn't think he is cute-looking. But now, I really really think my dear is cute-looking, hey~! :p
Bayernhaus is a German restaurant so expect lots of sausages, pork and German beer there! At first, we were a bit skeptical about the food because the waitress who served us looks like she is so confused with everything! And the menu was like printed in different sheets of A4 papers! And then they told us beforehand that the credit card machine is down and we had to make sure we have enough cash for our meal. We were like... Duh??? But a good thing is, this restaurant doesn't charge you any service or government tax! :)Too lazy to type the long long name. So this is what I had.
And my dear had the meal A.
Well anywayz, luckily we were really impressed by their food. The Bavarian Potato Soup with German Sausages and Pork Belly was the first thing to impress us. It's just simply very unique yet yummy~! Well I must say, I prefer my dear's pork meal than my salmon meal. It's either he always order the nicer food or healthy food are always not-so-yummy. The gravy was really really good! We especially love the side, the Butter Tossed Parsley Potatoes a lot~! Bavarian Potato Soup with Sausages and Pork Belly~! Mama Mia~! Super nice~!
My Salmon Steak was okay lar.
Dear's pork meal was fantastic!
Great food I must say! We really enjoyed them! I guess we must also try the German Roasted Pork Hand one day too because we saw almost every table has that! And the German beer too! I guess we were really lucky to have chosen the restaurant for dinner! :)

Breakfast Buffet @ Maytower, KL
FYI, I'm totally a breakfast person.
And FYI, I'm such a big fan of breakfast buffet.
And that is why I always love to stay in a hotel that offers free breakfast buffet. I mean, you will get Western, Chinese, Malay, Indian and all kinda different breakfast all at once! Plus, the omelette counter is always my favourite part!
That's why I was very excited about the breakfast buffet at Maytower this time around! La Maison Cafe at a glance. Actually quite a small cafe for a hotel.
I was really excited about the bacon!!!
But some people just not really used to waking up too early for breakfast. :p
Well, I must say, the variety of food wasn't too much. As in, there aren't like too much of food compared to those that I've tried before. I mean, normally there will be hash brown, nasi lemak, roti canai and stuff. But I must say their food aren't too bad lar. The fried rice was really good. And it seems like my dear loves their potato wedges a lot. Oh yea, the crossants!!! The corssants was really really good! Very crispy and fresh! Love them! My first round... But the bacon aren't really good.:(
My dear's first round... This is when we found out the crossant is really yummy~!
It's been a while I didn't have Coco Crunch!
Green salad and some fruits are a must!
Too bad they don't have mushroom at their omelette counter!
Took more crossants because they were simply too good!
True to my Teochew root, I had some porridge. But not very good lar... The ikan bilis was too salty and the peanuts were not crispy already.
Not the best breakfast buffet, but it was good enough to make me really happy the whole day! I always think a great breakfast cheers up my day! :D
But hooo~hoooo~ I'm so bloody sure I've put on weight after dating Mr. Wong!

My first visit to T.G.I Friday

WHAT??????
I know that is just what you will say!
It's true... I think it's basically because my friends and I would never thought of having a nice chat and a meal at fancy restaurants like this before. And FYI, I've only been to Chili's once, and that was only during tea time. I've been to Tony Roma's once, but that was in Perth last year.
So my dear was also very surprised and he promised to bring me there one day. So last week, as a repay for something I've promised him to do, he brought me to T.G.I Friday for dinner. And since it's such a famous place that everyone goes, I don't consider this post as a food review lar, just a post to tell ya about my first experiece at T.G.I Friday. One of me and him at the restaurant...
To start, I would still emphasize the fact that I STILL HATE SCHOOL HOLIDAY! Everywhere you go, it's all packed! And in restaurants especially, you will hear babies and kids crying or making annoying noises! OMG~! Get me out of KL!!! :S
Anywayz, my dear ordered this 2 course meal thingy which is only RM29.90 and you get an appetizer and a main course. It's a very good deal indeed. So he went for the Boneless Wings as the appetizer and the main was Adobo Chicken. To me the Boneless Wings was okay, but the Adobo Chicken really impressed me. It tasted like a bit spicy yet sour, plus some mint sauce on top of it, it's just simply delicious~! The Boneless Wings...
Adobo Chicken, served with some deep-fried sweet potatoes with cheese sauce! Yum~!
I had the Grilled Lamb Chop with Mint Sauce and some bacon as well. I thought it was only so-so. Still prefer the chicken. My very unhealthy Grilled Lamb Chop.
Big hole in my dear's wallet after the dinner... :(
And as we were leaving the mall, we saw Grasshoppers!!! No, not the real green-coloured grasshopper! But the quite-old band Grasshoppers! 草蜢! They were there to promote their concert and we were lucky to catch a glimpse of them. But they look really old liao ler...Hey hey! And my favourite Grasshoppers is the long hair guy, 蔡一智~!
More food to come~! Stay tune~! :D

How to make Wat Dan Yee Mee... For your loved one!

If you are a loyal reader of my blog, you would have know that my dear loves Wat Dan Ho a.k.a Fried Hor Fun with Egg Sauce a.k.a Cantonese Fried Noodles a lot. I, myself is a Wat Dan Ho lover too. Because of that my mum used to cook that for us a lot, and because of that, I learned from her how to make it.
I've shown you how to make the Mui Fan before, it is actually the same method. I didn't make the Hor Fun too this time, because I'm lazy to separate the noodles one by one. So here you go~ Wat Dan Yee Mee...
What you need...Yee Mee soaked in water to soften them, chicken pieces marinated with soya sauce and pepper plus corn flour to make them tender, prawns, choy sum, a beaten egg, chopped garlic, corn flour as well as you know... Oil, dark soya sauce, soya sauce and salt to taste.

Start with the noodles. Simmer some garlic, then fry the noodles with some soya sauce and dark soya sauce. Remove the noodles from the wok.
Step 1: Simmer some garlic.
Step 2: Fry the Yee Mee a bit...
And then, simmer more garlic in hot oil, then add in the chicken and prawns, fry for a while. Add in some water. The amount of water is depending on how much you love the egg sauce gravy lar. Let it boil, then add in some salt, not too much because the marinated chicken already gives some taste to the gravy. Then the vege.Step don't know how many: fry the chicken and prawn.
A-Must Step: Have a look at the sexy chef~! LOL!
Add in the water and let it boil...
Almost-done-step: Put in the vege~!
Let it boil, and now put in the egg. Stir well. Then pour in the corn flour which is mixed with water, cold water okay! Otherwise it won't work! Stir well. FYI, the corn flour is to thicken the gravy. The final step: Add in egg and corn flour.

Tips: After a few attempts, I got this tiny tip for you guys. If you want the egg in the gravy to be bigger in pieces, then put the corn flour in to thicken the gravy first, then only the egg. If you want the egg to be in smaller pieces then it's the other way round! :)

And you're done~!Doesn't it look fantastically yummy? *I'm being so beh pai seh~*
And you will need a satisfied diner for your cooking~!
I think it's a really simple dish lor, minus the time I needed to clean the prawns and the fussy process to wash off the smell of garlic on my hands... :p

Couples Retreat

I don't know, for some reason, not many people know about this movie. I guess 2010 lar, Ninja Assassin lar, Twilight lar got all the attention.
I chose to watch this movie after watching the preview and the Yoga scene made me laughed like crazy. So off I went to watch this movie with... Who else if not with my dear? Come on, the movie is called 'Couples' Retreat mah! :p
Well, it's a movie about four couples on a trip to an island, some just for fun, some to solve the problem in their relationship, etc. They ended up almost screwing their relationships up... But of course it was a happy ending lor, what can you expect? It's a bloody comedy ler! I didn't like the crappy ending, it was a bit too cin cai.
But I love the movie. First of all it is so damn funny! The Yoga scene especially made you wanna laugh till you fell on the ground in the cinema. I was literally beating my dear's lap while laughing out loud! And second of all, the problems and the stuff that the couples go through in the movie are just so real. It's like everybody might face the same problems in their relationships! And I definitely adore the cast!
I'm looking very-the forward for Alvin and the Chipmunks 2! The preview is sooooooooooooo CUTE!!!

Do you know???

That the Swedish meatball at Ikea's food court is sooooo DANGEROUSLY DELICIOUS???
Yea, I always go to the one downstairs to get my favourite curry puff with egg, until Ducum told me about the meatballs upstairs. I think the meatball is ok-ok, but the gravy that comes with it is awesome. And it's so abnormal for us Malaysians to have meatballs with cranberry sauce, but trust me, it's GREAT!!!
And...
The Roast Pork with apple sauce at Yut Kee is such a BLOODILY SINFUL AND YUMMY food! It's only available on weekends, my dear and me accidently saw it the other day and thus had a taste of it~! Mama Mia~! That's was soooooooo gooooooooood~~~~!!!
Okay, now it's back to our diet plan... :(

The BF...

So apparently I'm just so not famous that I can't even get 15 comments to say you guys are interested to see how my dear looks like.
Well, and I also beh tahan already... It's just too hard for me to hide my happiness and a bf who treats me so well and that I'm proud to show him off. Ducum actually said I look so sad in my blog, always only showing pics of me alone like I went to makan myself, went to Genting myself... So yea, from now on, I can put his pics too!!! :D
Some of you may already know him, that includes my mum. Haha... It's CL, our senior in Hua Lian.

Nine Years ago... We were like 哥儿们......
Nine Years later, we ended up like this...

Okay, Thanks for watching...

A Christmas Carol

I went to the movie without knowing much about the storyline. It was solely because I'm a fan of Jim Carrey and that I know he plays a few characters in the movie.
I read Lay Jing's blog post saying it was only so-so, so I didn't have high hopes. But then it surprises me a bit cos I actually love the movie! Even my dear loves it too!
It's about this old man Scrooge who is a really bad man who only cares about his money and all. He finally met three spirits/ghosts who then change his character. Part of the story was really touching but I think the most important thing is that it is such a meaningful story! It's a great movie for both adult and kids to learn more about themselves, I think. Although, my dear and I think it's a bit not-too-suitable for kids to watch because of the ghosts thingy.
And I was surprised to see Colin Firth and Robin Wright Penn! In fact, Colin Firth's character looks just as though it was he himself, a younger version of course! Really amazed by the way they created the characters using the actors' actual face!
Great movie for the coming Christmas! :)
