More Movie Reviews!

Dallas Buyers Club
Director: Jean-Marc Vallee
Cast: Matthew McConaughey, Jared Leto, Jennifer Garner
Synopsis: Based on the story of real-life AIDS patient Ron Woodroof, the movie follows his journey into smuggling and selling unapproved drugs claimed to be able to improve his symptoms, going against the Food & Drug Administration (FDA).
The Thumb-Up(s): The movie carries a very important responsibility of not only showing the sufferings the AIDS patients have to go through, but also the heart-warming message of not stereotyping them and I truly adore that fact. Also, the fact that the movie is a low budget movie shot with one single camera and done in 25 days, then ended up winners at the Academy Award leaves you with no choice but respect and admiration for the director, the crew and the cast.:)
Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto's performances truly deserved the accolades that they have gotten so far. Matthew's portrayal of the helpless but never-give-up fighting for his life's Ron Woodroof is a big change of role for him and he certainly nailed it. Jared Leto on the other hand, plays Rayon, a transgender woman and he totally made you believe that he is a transgender! The body language, the language and the sleek acting. You will surely fall in love with him watching the movie, even if it means he was a woman in the movie.
The Thumb-Down(s): It's quite a slow-paced movie with not much of a climax, making it more like a documentary.
The Verdict: Inspiring story, inspiring acting and that's all you need to watch this movie.

Need for Speed
Director: Scott Waugh
Cast: Aaron Paul, Dominic Cooper, Imogen Poots
Synopsis: Based on a series of video games by EA, the movie tells about street racer Tobey Marshall's journey in winning the De Leon, a winner-takes-it-all race.
The Thumb-Up(s): Well planned and designed actions, especially if you have played the video games before you should find it cool that the movie was able to put some of the races into it. Most of the script totally cracked me up and that is something that I find very refreshing compared to the almost too-serious Fast & Furious series. Well you know the comparison will come right? So yes, the action and cars featured were more interesting and according to Deardo, more expensive too compared to those in Fast & Furious. Storyline too, has more twists and bit more inspirational, rather than just chase, shoot, chase and shoot again.
I love Imogen Poots's role in the movie! She is the main person who made the movie funnier, cooler and fresher! You guys need to check her out man!
The Thumb-Down(s): Cinematography wasn't the best for an action movie like this. I must also admit that half of the storyline was quite predictable.
The Verdict: Entertaining, funny and action-packed. I was forced to watch it but I came out of the cinema feeling super satisfied. :)
