The Expendables

Last night after watching this movie, I had a weird and scary dream... I was in a car with a lady dressed in military clothing and she was shooting at me non-stop. I just didn't die despite all the shootings but the loud noise was so annoying it woke me up! Even when I first opened my eyes I still see shadow of the lady shooting at me...
Ish bloody movie...

Anywayz, I went for the movie not only because I really love some of the cast, but also because of mostly good reviews from people around me. You see, I wanted to watch The Last Airbender because of Dev Petel (Slumdog Millionaire) but everybody says it sucks so I didn't watch...
The Expendables is this one team of people I supposed work as killers with their bloody loud and 'geng' weapons. And don't be fooled by the poster, not everyone in the picture are part of The Expendables!
Like some blogger said, it's a very Sylvester Stallone's movie. Jungle war kinda action, big guns, a lot of bloody scenes that will make you go 'OUCH~!'...It's very action packed actually although somehow the cinematography is pretty weird showing minimal of the action when they fight with some tight close ups... But then the truth is, it was so entertaining I didn't even check my watch for the time!
I think the thing I love the most about the movie isn't really the action, but the script, the dialogue! The way they talk is like so casual and the jokes are hilarious! This reminded me of The A-Team, which failed to make me laugh too much with their lousy jokes. The Expendables is definitely way better!
Though I'm not a fan of Stallone, I must say I love Jason Statham, Jet Li (love his character in the movie! So funny! I needdddd more money~), Mickey Rourke and Bruce Willis (he only appeared for like 2 minutes, so does Arnold Schwarzenegger, but that scene was damn funny). The other cast too made the movie interesting!
Not fantastic, sometimes fake, but who cares? It's entertaining!
I say this is a MUST WATCH!

It's Chef Shirlexia again!

Do excuse me if you think I'm blogging a bit too frequent. But that's because if I didn't screw up my own medical check-up, and nothing goes wrong in between, I'm starting work next Tuesday! Yea... I know it's a bit too soon but what to do? I'M NEEDED! :p
Since I'm going to start work very soon, I'm afraid I won't have that much time to crap in my blog anymore, so I better finish blogging about everything I have left on hands... Damn it sounds like I'm working for someone and is chasing against time to meet deadline...==|||

Anywayz here are some of my cooking I don't dare to call them recipe to share...
Sha Cha Chicken Chop with Aglio Olio
This is something special I made the other day because Deardo and I were a bit tired of dishes with rice everyday when his mum was here. So right after she left, I made a quite random Western dish for dinner!I marinated the chicken chop with some Sha Cha Sauce that I've used here before for a few hours and kinda grilled it on a non-stick pan until it is cooked. Then made the Aglio Olio like this one, but this time around it was a successful one because I've put enough of olive oil and more chili flakes! :D Then I finally stir fried some Tow Miew (pea shoots) with bean sprouts with some garlic and chicken stock as the side dish. It's a bit like an East meets West dish which was a total success! Deardo loves it and I'm so happy it turned out yummy after some hard work! :D

Japanese Tuna Sauce Salad
I bought this packet of Tuna Pasta Sauce from the 100 Yen Shop not too long ago. I tried it with spaghetti before and it was pretty nice with some bits of tuna in it. But then the next day I didn't want to have spaghetti anymore so I heat up the sauce as usual, this time around with some chili flakes to make it spicy. Then added the sauce onto some boiled potatoes, eggs, corn and raw capsicum. Now the pasta sauce turned into salad dressing! Not too bad as a light and healthy lunch! :)

Honey Mustard Chicken with Spaghetti This is quite exactly the same thing as the Honey Mustard Chicken with Rice I did before for Papo and Mamo. But I forgot about the mushroom this time around(oooppssss...). And in stead of rice, we had it with some spaghetti.
Still amazingly delicious!!! Next time I'm gonna try making it to go with mashed potato!

I think I've forgotten to wish all my Malay and Muslim friends SELAMAT BERPUASA!!! I hope you wouldn't get too hungry reading my blog! :p

The moment has come...

This is a GOLDEN moment that I've been waiting for a long long time.
Nop, not for my whole life, but yes, for a few months now. Never thought it will be so long but it did take me quite a long time to finally hear that few words from someone's mouth...
At first I was pretty nervous waiting for this moment to come but then it cool down a bit since it didn't happen after a while but I knew I'm going to be VERY excited listening to those words...

Finally the moment I've been waiting for arrived...

Finally the few words I've been waiting for are here(although not very perfectly)...

You wanna guess what happen???
I...

I...

I...

I'm getting married!!!

Hahahaha... No lar...
It's just when I was typing this I noticed it really sounds like someone has proposed or I'm pregnant or something...
Well, it is still something I can celebrate actually!
After so many months, I'M FINALLY HIRED!!!
*jump jump jump~run around in circle~*

Why I said it didn't come perfectly?
The girl sounded so nervous talking to me like I'm her dream guy or something! She was like... That day you came for an interview right, we would like to hire... Er... Actually give you the offer... And then she couldn't even tell me the exact position I've been offered! She was like... Let me check ah...
Aiyo~ So blur and so nervous one??? Spoiled the whole job-offer-call man!!!
Anywayz, I haven't say yes yet! Will call her up to confirm things tomorrow!
BUT I'M EXCITED! LET'S GO CELEBRATE PEOPLE! LET'S GO HAVE BUFFET!!!

YAY~~~~~!!!

Breaky @ Teluk Pulai BKT, Klang

Last Saturday I followed Deardo's family all the way to Klang just to have Bak Kut Teh for breakfast. Well, I've definitely tried Klang's BKT before but haven't been there for quite some time now. Deardo enjoying his time as a passenger, not the driver this time around!
If you want to makan here, just keep an eye on the blue colour shop!
This time around Deardo's BIL took us to Kedai Minuman & Makanan Teluk Pulai, his choice for BKT in Klang. I don't know the exact address, but you will see it very soon after the Klang toll.
We ordered a pot of BKT with everything in it. A small portion of the dry version with some vegetables. Everybody looks like they had not enough of sleep and will snooze off any time...
Some Yao Tiu.
Sooner or later, I'm going get very sick of Yao Mak...
Our pot of Bak Kut Teh~! Yay~! I'm hungry!!!
Another yummy angle...
The Dry BKT.
I think the BKT is quite nice, but not like fantastic lor. I actually think the one at Yu Kee, SS15 has better BKT soup, like it has heavier herbal smell lor. But the dry version one was pretty good actually, although it's quite spicy because of the cili padi! :p I also think their innards somehow were cooked to a way that I like them (not that I don't like innards lar, I'm actually a fan okay?)! Like they are not 'so innards', if you get what I mean...Everybody busy noming while us busy taking pics!
The bill came up to RM80 plus. But like Deardo said, you really don't need to travel so far to get the best BKT lor. I think there must be many more BKT outside Klang that are better than this one, really!

And by the way, just in case you haven't realize, Snowflakes' Japan Combo has become our latest addiction here. Even Deardo's BIL, Kevin love it. No, the sentence should be... Kevin is crazy over it! I think the reason I love it so much is because the ice used is with soya bean. Not too sweet, just nice~! :D And well I love red bean!!!
Yeap, we had one in Pavilion after the breaky!

Karen's Birthday Celebrato~

I don't know about you, but I'm finding myself with too many August babies around me! You see, I just celebrated Chuan Yee's birthday last week! Of course some of them I could only wish them through FB, but some it's just not right to skip celebrating with them!
Yeap, I'm talking about Karen, whom I've celebrated her birthday with her last year in Hong Kong!
Say Hello to the birthday girl, Auntie Karen! And oh that lace hairband is my birthday gift for her! Nice ler???
Time really flies man, it's too fast for one year since our Hong Kong trip and too fast for her to grow a year older, my dear Auntie Karen! Kekekekeke... :p

Dinner @ Pasta de Gohan
Anywayz, we only had a night out for the celebration. We went to Pasta de Gohan since she'd never dined there before while I'm quite a fan of it and have their membership card even if some of the waitresses can't speak English properly and their promotion brochure has too many mistakes it makes me laughed so hard...
Here's my previous review on Pasta de Gohan.
Since Karen was a bit too full because the food she ate the whole day, we shared one set dinner which was much more than enough for the two of us. What I especially love about Pasta de Gohan is they have all kinda set lunch, set dinner and combo sets with a few different dishes in smaller portion so that you can try out different flavours all the time! I chose the Minestrone Soup which is really a no-no...
And chose the Chicken and Mushrooms Pizza.
And the Macha Cream Octopus Spaghetti!
At RM28.90, I got a set with a pasta, a pizza and a soup of a salad. All three dishes can be chosen from about 3 to 4 choices. I love my Macha Cream Octopus Spaghetti a lot! The Macha flavour is pretty unique but yummy while the pizza is crispy and I love the fact that it has the long mushrooms I don't know what they are called on it! Yummmzzzz~~~!!!As you can see I love hairbands, so I gave her a hairband too!
Blurry photo but oh well I don't want to skip this since it has Auntie Karen's signature peace pose! LOL!
I am so going to Pasta de Gohan more after this to try out more of their dishes on their menu!

After a little walk around the mall, we decided to get some ice-cream before we call it a day...Fattening I know! But oh man, Baskin Robbins just have some wonderful ice-cream flavours~!
Can you spot one similarity in the pictures above??? Nop, not the ice-cream!
Ta da~ We bought the same safety pin necklace from Topshop together since it was buy-one-free-one!
Once again, HAPPY BIRTHDAY my dear hao jie mei~! :D I hope everything goes well for you!

Ah by the way, that was a Friday, only the beginning of my busy weekend! More to blog about soon!

Healthy Tuna Rice

Quite recently I suddenly have all kinda ideas in using rice to make a simple dish. My first experiment was the Healthy Tomato Rice with Fish and one fine afternoon I made my second try which I call it simply, Healthy Tuna Rice!

What you need...About a cup of rice, frozen corn(aren't in the picture above because they were being cooked when I took the pic), a can of tuna in olive oil, chopped capsicum, chopped tomato, tow miew (pea shoots) and an egg. Some soya sauce and pepper to taste.

What to do...
1) Cooked the rice and frozen corn in a rice cooker.2) When the rice is cooked and still hot, beat the egg onto the rice and stir.3) Next, pour all ingredients into the pot and mix well.4) Add in appropriate amount of soya sauce and pepper to taste. And that's it! Serve HOT!

Gosh I was eating the rice myself thinking... How good is it if I can be SO HEALTHY everyday!
You know what? I think this is like one of the simplest dish I've ever made. So little cooking! I mean, the rice and corn just leave it to the rice cooker! You don't even need to start a fire to cook anything! Ingredients wise, it's quite the same as how I made my Tuna Macaroni. I chose them to make the dish looks prettier with a variety of colour. As for the tow miew, I just suddenly thought of the days back in Perth where I first saw the ang mos eating them raw as salad, and I actually accepted it! So I added that into the rice just so that I get to eat some green vege. I even garnish my dish with them! I supposed you can choose your own ingredients too when you feel like trying to make this healthy dish!
HAPPY COOKING~!!! :D

Chuan Yee's Birthday Celebreto

Since Deardo's mum is in town(again) and is still demanding to cook everyday, I've have lesser time to go out with Deardo to explore new makan places or even watch movies, so my blog is becoming a bit boring, I must admit. :(
Oh but last Sunday I had a very fun night out celebrating Chuan Yee's 23rd birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY AGAIN KEVIN FOO CHUAN YEE~!!! *pinch your FAT face~~~*
Before the dinner, we went to Bread Story to buy a birthday cake. We eventually chose their very special self-decorated cake. You buy their cake, which is fruit cake by default, then you will get all the coloured icing to draw on it the way you like it! Well at least we have Ducum and Abby who are design grad students and Ducum and I Rene who've worked in SR before, so it will be an easy task for them! Ma designer sis concentrating... When are you going to concentrate on my new blog header??? Woi???
The three girls having fun menconteng kek.
Teng teng teng teng... Or Jeng Jeng Jeng... The final product!
No contribution from me, but I want a pic with the cake too! :p
I think it's pretty fun IF you are good in drawing with icing! Ah... Abby went to pee lar...

Then we headed to Bubba Gump for our dinner. This is actually my second visit to Bubba Gump, first one was this one. I don't want to write any review on the food cos I think they are all just so-so. Plus, portion are just too small for that kinda price. Games while waiting for the superstar birthday boy to come...
Kevin: Ey, you really put on weight already. Shirlexia: Yea, but I'm never as fat as you lar! :p
I Rene and Ducum Tan.
Random and nothing...
Random and FUNNY~~~!!! Hahahahaha...
But I gotta say I had lotsa fun that night listening to especially Kevin's stories, from here and there. Like they all said, he is really like a radio who can tell you all you wanna know about your old schoolmates! It just sounds like he has contacts to everybody in school! And the way he tells story can just make you burst into laughter even if you are drinking water! *open umbrella first~*Radio Hua Lian... Kevin Foo Chuan Yee.
The thing about waitress taking pics for you 1... Totally too far...
The thing about waitress taking pics for you 2... BLURRRRRR....
Birthday boy with the birthday cake!
Anywayz, I guess he had fun too having four leng luis celebrating his birthday and being cheated that the cake was baked by ourselves... Kakakakakaka... Chuan Yee, you're so cute lar~! *pinch FAT face again~~*

And then we went to the loo...Ya know... Girls can camwhore gao gao even in the restroom!

And then we got a call from Chuan Yee from the car park...I guess you know what happened, right???
Blur blur punya birthday boy~! *pinch FAT face again~~~*
