Dark Soya Sauce Chicken with Potatoes and Mushrooms

This is a dish that will definitely bring back some memories of mummy's cooking! Or even your granny's cooking! I don't know about you, but to me, this is just such a homey dish!

What you need:Chopped garlic, chicken cut into either pieces or cubes marinated with light soya sauce and pepper, sliced potatoes, sliced mushrooms, sesame oil and corn flour.

What to do:
1. First of all, deep dry the potatoes until they become brownish. Remove and put aside.2. Now you may reuse the remaining oil, just reduce a little since you're not deep-frying the chicken. Heat it up and simmer the garlic until a little brownish.
3. Then add in the chicken, and some water. Stir(Add some corn flour to the chicken to soften the meat).4. As the chicken are half cooked, pour in the potatoes and mushrooms. Continue to stir.5. Finally before you're done, add in some dark soya sauce and sesame oil, then thicken the gravy with some corn flour! That's it!Note: I didn't put any salt to the dish since the soya sauce and pepper used to marinate the chicken has had enough saltiness. You can add some salt if yours is not salty enough.

Ta da~! Now that's our homey dinner~!
I remember back at home, this dish is without the mushrooms actually. I just added in simply because I'm a mushrooms lover! I always think cooking is only fun when you dare to try out new things or add in things to make it more exciting according to your own taste! Agree???
